Old Girls' Union Chapel and AGM
Thursday, 23 March 2023
On Saturday 11 March 2023, the Old Girls' Union (OGU) gathered for a chapel service, afternoon tea and their Annual General Meeting (AGM), which takes place at the school each year around Foundation Day.

This year's event was a special one as the OGU welcomed Mrs Judith Poole as our new Headmistress, with close to 55 members joining us to meet Mrs Poole as she begins her time at St Catherine's.

The chapel service, led by Reverend Kylie Wilson, included the traditional hymns and prayers of St Catherine's, which many of our alumni know by heart.

The service also included a tribute to commemorate the life of Mr Greg St Vincent, a staff member from 1982 – 1999, who passed away earlier this year. Our former school chaplain, Reverend Kimberley Sawyer, led his memorial, with a tribute given by past Headmistress, Mrs Jo Karaolis. It was wonderful to see almost 20 past members of staff also in attendance.

Following the chapel service, guests enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea along the veranda of the Dr Julie Townsend Theatre. Thank you to the OGU Executive Committee for providing the catering so generously. During this time, many of our guests also enjoyed a tour of the new Performing Arts & Aquatic Centre.

The AGM followed and we extend congratulations to those committee members who have been re-elected in their positions for another year.

Thank you to Mrs Poole for her school report shared at the meeting, and for updating OGU members on the various news and events of St Catherine's school. Congratulations to the school for its incredible successes through academics and extracurricular activities, and for the strong position the school now holds with its enrolments for 2023 and beyond.
